Dr. Mojaver, a native of San Diego, has been providing leading edge dental care in Carmel Valley since 2003. Before pursuing a dental degree, he received two bachelors degrees, with honors, from UC San Diego, one in Neuroscience & the other in Sociology After obtaining his DMD from the prestigious Tufts University of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA, in 2003, he returned to his hometown to fulfill his vision of providing excellent care & administering the highest level of comfort & compassion for his patients.

Since the inception of Modern Dentistry in 2005, Dr. Mojaver has set a new standard of dental care for his patients. Consistently adding new technologies, completing continuing education to improve care, & refining clinical techniques, his goal, & that of his team, is to always strive to provide you the best dental experience.

During his spare time, Dr. Mojaver enjoys all of the beautiful natural splendors San Diego has to offer. He spends his free time staying active with running, hiking going on adventures with his wife and son.

Dr. Hennasea Tokumura comes to us from the beautiful island of Oahu, where she was born and raised. She obtained her BS in Biology (as well as a minor in Chemistry) at the University of Utah while on a full athletic scholarship. Her passion to help those less fortunate and give back to the community is what led Dr. Hennasea to pursue a career in dentistry. She graduated with honors from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco and went on to receive her AEGD post-doctorate certificate with NYU Langone Dental Medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Hennasea likes to spend time with her family and friends, as well as stay active. Her hobbies include surfing, hiking, yoga, and working out.

Meet the Doctor

Dr. Dylan J.T. Benke
General Dentist
Dr. Dylan J.T. Benke was born and raised in San Diego, CA. He graduated with honors from San Diego Christian, earning a Bachelor’s in Biological Sciences, while also attending National Air College to study aeronautics and obtain his private pilot’s license. During his undergraduate studies, he worked with teams constructing renewable energy power plants in California, Arizona, and Nevada. Through local and national volunteer work, Dr. Benke discovered his passion for medicine. Recognizing various healthcare specialties, he found dentistry to be a truly rewarding and fulfilling field that allowed him to provide meaningful and compassionate care to his patients.

While attending the University of Nevada’s School of Dental Medicine and Lee Business School, Dr. Benke was one of only four in his graduating class to complete a dual MBA/DMD program. His education has complemented his commitment to providing evidence-based clinical recommendations for conservative, long-lasting results for his patients. Dr. Benke continues to advance his skills through continuing education, focusing on dental cosmetics and implantology, and is currently working toward Associate Fellow status with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.

Dr. Benke has been accepted into a rigorous two-year residency program through the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, dedicating rotations through various specialty training to provide the best care to patients at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, California. He is dedicated to fully understanding all facets of aesthetic-driven restorative treatment planning and comprehensive quality care for his patients. Dr. Benke is a devoted lifelong learner in his field and has been a pinnacle of quality dental care in the San Diego community for many years. He believes in a conservative plan, with attention to detail, and sincere regard for the whole body health and well-being of the patients he treats.

Dr. Benke has worked with many charitable dental organizations aiding underserved populations, including veterans, the homeless, Give Kids a Smile, and Remote Area Medical – USA and abroad. He has been a provider through UCSD’s pre-dental society and has worked in various countries around the world, offering hands-on education and training in implantology and cosmetic dentistry.

Having grown up in San Diego, CA, Dr. Benke enjoys many active sports that San Diegans love, such as surfing, snowboarding, and all things outdoors. He also loves traveling with his beautiful wife, Shannen, and their Queensland Heeler, Bailey, on all their active adventures.

After graduating Cum Laude from the University of Central Oklahoma with her Bachelor of Science in biology, Dr. Johnson obtained her Doctoral of Dental Surgery diploma from the College of Dentistry at Oklahoma University in 2005.

Afterward, she immediately joined and contributed to a graduate program at the university in general dentistry through the Children’s Physician Medical Center and Oklahoma Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center for additional education and skill-training. This time in residency also afforded her experience in operating rooms and trauma-related settings.

Dr. Johnson next practiced general dentistry in Oklahoma and North Carolina before she returned to academia to obtain her Master of Science in Periodontology from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry in 2010.

This supplemental degree provided Dr. Johnson with the education and skills needed for competent treatment in the prevention, diagnostic analysis, and procedural protocols in periodontal diseases supplemented with advanced oral plastic surgical procedures.

Having treated patients of all ages – from children to veterans alike – Dr. Johnson is committed to treating every patient she meets with absolute respect and care.

Thomas V. Brislin Jr., the youngest of six children, grew up in Harveys Lake, Pennsylvania. He’s a natural athlete and enjoyed competing in soccer, volleyball and is an avid water sports enthusiast. Tom was a Varsity Soccer player while he attended Saint Joseph’s University during his undergraduate studies and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. “Crunching numbers,” Tom realized, was not his real passion. He decided to pursue Dentistry and in 2011, he graduated from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

After Dental School, Tom was commissioned as a General Dental Officer in the United States Navy and was stationed at Camp Pendleton, California. In 2013, Lieutenant Brislin was part of Pacific Angel Vietnam, a multi-service Medical and Dental Humanitarian Mission in Vietnam. Tom was Honorably discharged from the US Navy and completed his Oral Maxillofacial Surgery residency training at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was during his residency training that he realized his great interest in the pathology of the head and neck, Implant restorations of missing teeth and advanced sedation techniques.

Tom and his wife, Kirby, have five children. The family returned to Southern California to enjoy the sand, sun, and surf. When he’s not busy transforming smiles with his oral surgery skills, he is spending time with his family at the beach, camping, running or golfing.
